China & Fortunity

From 27 January to 5 February 2017, Casinos Barrière will be celebrating Chinese New Year. Honouring this important event in the Chinese calendar has become an institution at the Group’s casinos. The year of the Rooster will be celebrated in suitably festive and authentic style to ensure 2017 brings triumph, success and good fortune.

Barrière establishments will be decorated for the occasion with dragon and lion statues guarding the entrance to the games, in addition to bamboo lined walkways and red lanterns contributing to the lucky mood.

Warmly welcomed in the Chinese tradition, guests will be invited to add their hopes for the coming year to a wishing tree under the watchful eye of Buddha. With venues adorned with Chinese ceramic vases and Asian plants, guests will be fully immersed in the festivities this new year.

All sorts of entertainment has been organised to mark the event: spectacular lion and dragon dances, origami and calligraphy workshops, as well as acrobats and other performers in traditional attire to delight guests at casinos while fortune cookies are handed out. From the initiatory tea ceremony to the lychee, ginger and sake cocktail tastings on offer, Barrière clientèle can enjoy everything the year of the rooster has to offer.

Asian slot machines are another star attraction this Chinese new year. Partly reserved for Casinopass card holders (who can win games vouchers) and partly reserved for Le Carré VIP card holders, guests will have to take on the Red Dragon in order to be blessed by the rooster. Each casino will have a pop-up area devoted to the luck this Chinese zodiac sign can bring in 2017.
