Swing & Escape

Legendary courses,  an invitation to journey across the greens, and the comfort of the clubhouses….  Golf is closely entwined with the Barrière Spirit. Barrière hotels offer their guests the chance to discover some of the most beautiful golf courses in France and Morocco, many of which are very difficult to gain access to. For members only, they rarely allow non-members to play. Players of all levels can enjoy breathtakingly scenic grounds during a stay at one of  Barrière's destinations.

As an essential component of the "French-style Resort", golf has historically contributed to the pleasure of a stay in a Barrière property. In 1929, the construction of the Golf Barrière Deauville, today one of the most famous in France, began with a magnificent course designed by leading British architect, Tom Simpson.

Exceptional courses,  stunning sites

Thanks to  Barrière's partnerships at each of its 9 destinations, guests  enjoy exclusive access to legendary golf courses that are often closed to non- members.

This offering is enhanced by its prestigious Barrière greens: the historic Barrière Deauville Golf Course, the exceptional British-designed Barrière Saint-Julien Golf Course, the  Barrière La Baule International Golf Course, one of the greatest golf courses in Europe, and the largest in France (45 holes), covering 220 hectares.

Quality and comfort for casual sports lovers

To take in all that these legendary courses have to offer, beginners and experienced players alike can enjoy top-notch facilities that are ideal for both introductory or improvement sessions. The putting green, driving range and professional coaching provide an introduction to the rules of the game,  giving guests the chance to improve their technique and perfect their swing in excellent conditions.

The training centre at Barrière La Baule International Golf Course is very active. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, who is considered to be one of the best golfers of all time, it boasts 10 covered  bays and 55 artificial or natural turf bays.

Comfortably settled on the terrace, or inside with a view over the green, players can enjoy a  refreshing drink and sample the delicious cuisine of the "Tables Barrière" restaurants  at the clubhouses.
