A more responsible approach to events
The Barrière Group is committed to a comprehensive CSR approach through its ‘Planète Barrière’ strategy. This includes a ‘Responsible Events’ component, which aims to formalise the Group's commitments across all sites hosting events. Planète Barrière
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, known as ‘Planète Barrière’, structures the integration of environmental and societal issues within the Barrière Group's businesses.
Founded over a century ago, the Group attaches particular importance to human values and respect for the environment. Its ambition is to offer its customers a high-end experience marked by conviviality.
This approach is driven by the Governance and embodied by all teams.
The ‘Planète Barrière’ strategy for 2025-2027 is based on three pillars: the environment, social responsibility and governance. The Group regularly conducts audits to measure its progress in terms of social and environmental responsibility.
Our establishments are also signatories to the Responsible Events & Seminars Charter, thereby committing to comply with it and implement the associated action plan.

Encouraging the circular economy
The principles of the circular economy apply to Events & Seminars activities and are accompanied by optimised waste management through a single service provider, Take a Waste, which specialises in comprehensive waste management, enabling us to anticipate regulatory changes and ensure efficient sorting.
The Barrière Group is also taking action to reduce its paper consumption by gradually digitising its communication materials and offering its customers a digital press service, PressReader.
The Group encourages the reduction of single-use packaging and the reuse of items such as decorative elements, kakemonos, badges and brochures.
Optimising natural resources
Numerous initiatives are being implemented to reduce water and energy consumption, such as centralised lighting management and the installation of resource-efficient equipment. Renewable energies now account for 50% of the Barrière Group's energy contract.
Promoting responsible catering
The Group aims to encourage a more sustainable catering model that combines pleasure, quality and respect for the environment by offering its guests local and seasonal products, as well as vegetarian dishes.
The Group is vigilant about the quality of its catering offer and favours quality labels (Label Rouge, MSC Sustainable Fishing).
Particular attention is paid to food waste by optimising the range of products on offer, adapting containers and training staff on this issue.
Promoting soft mobility and accessibility
Barrière's certified destinations are accessible by high-speed train and provide services to promote soft mobility, including bicycles, shuttle services and charging stations for electric vehicles.
The Group also aims to gradually obtain ‘Tourisme & Handicap’ certification for its establishments. This label supports tourist facilities in improving accessibility, while providing a clear and reassuring reference point for visitors with disabilities.
Developing solidarity commitments and regional roots
The Group's hotels partner with associations working to recycle used soap. This more sustainable and socially responsible initiative aims to combat waste and provide access to hygiene for the most disadvantaged.
Our establishments are also loyal ambassadors for Café Joyeux, which aims to change perceptions of disability and promote social interaction by offering work in a normal environment to people who are far from the job market.
The Barrière Group is actively involved in the communities where it operates, offering its Seminar & Event customers at least one responsible activity in conjunction with its partner agencies and/or a local activity.
