Barrière continues to operate the Casino of Cassis for a further 15 years

From June 22 to 29, 2026, all Barrière Casinos will participate in the second edition of Responsible Gaming Week. This initiative aims to raise awareness among customers and employees about the issues related to problem gambling, while reaffirming the Group’s long-standing commitment to prevention and support.

A pioneer in these areas, Barrière is among the first casino groups in France to have developed a structured policy for the prevention of excessive gambling. As early as 2009, the Group implemented a Voluntary Access Restriction program, which has since become a recognized industry standard.

For more than fifteen years, Responsible Gaming has been a cornerstone of the Group’s strategy and lies at the heart of its business model. This approach is based on a simple principle: enabling everyone to enjoy gaming as a leisure activity and an entertaining experience, within a safe, supervised, and controlled environment.

Through this new edition of Responsible Gaming Week, Barrière continues its efforts to raise awareness among its customers and train its teams, with the goal of widely disseminating best practices and strengthening prevention measures within its facilities.

A Nationwide Initiative Across All Barrière Casino

Throughout the week, the Group’s casinos will roll out several awareness-raising and informational initiatives:

  • Setting up prevention booths within the casinos, in partnership with local Centers for Addiction Care, Support, and Prevention (CSAPA), to inform customers and direct them toward existing support services.

  • A large-scale internal awareness campaign will be organized for employees who interact with customers. Throughout June, more than 1,300 employees—representing nearly 60% of the Group’s front-of-house teams—will participate in training and refresher sessions on the fundamentals of Responsible Gaming. Designed around real-life scenarios and role-playing exercises, these training sessions will be led by each establishment’s Responsible Gaming coordinators with the support of management teams, to ensure 100% coverage across the Barrière Casino network.

The 2026 edition also marks a significant shift in the Group’s communication strategy regarding Responsible Gaming. This year, Barrière is launching a new national awareness campaign under the slogan “Calmons le Jeu.” More prominently displayed within the venues, this new identity reflects a strong commitment: to shift the focus of prevention messaging toward a more positive, accessible, and less guilt-inducing approach. The messages were designed to inform and support players without lecturing them, while emphasizing their autonomy and their ability to maintain control over their gaming habits.

This campaign will be rolled out across all of the Group’s casinos through a dedicated display system and shared on Barrière’s social media channels and those of its venues via a series of educational posts aimed at raising public awareness of Responsible Gaming issues.

A Long-Term Commitment

According to Joy Desseigne-Barrière, Co-Chair of the Barrière Group and Chair of the National Commission for Responsible Gaming:

At Barrière casinos, gaming has always been about enjoyment and camaraderie. For over a century, our venues have been vibrant places where people come to have fun, socialize, and share exciting experiences.

Gambling is a pleasure, and it must remain so. Welcoming our guests in this spirit of responsibility is an integral part of our business. Every day, our specially trained teams monitor gambling behavior and strive to recognize the signs of risky situations so they can support those in need with discretion and compassion.

This approach is a long-term commitment that continues to evolve, guided by a simple principle: to preserve what is at the heart of our casinos—the joy of gaming—within a framework of trust. Because, ultimately, our goal has not changed: gaming must remain a chosen form of entertainment, never something imposed.

Tangible Results in Support of Prevention

With more than 8 million visits recorded each year at its venues, the Barrière Group welcomes a vast majority of guests who come to enjoy a recreational, relaxed, and controlled gaming experience.

For situations requiring special attention, the Group’s Responsible Gaming measures enable us to identify, support, and guide affected players in a proactive and caring manner.

In 2025 :

  • 2,068 at-risk players were identified;

  • 2,126 players were interviewed as part of the Responsible Gaming program;

  • 1,629 Voluntary Access Restrictions were implemented;

  • 233 players were referred for a National Gaming Ban;

  • 103 individuals were referred to specialized treatment facilities.

These results reflect the daily commitment of the Group’s teams and the central role that Responsible Gaming plays in the operation of its facilities.

Through this new edition of Responsible Gaming Week, Barrière reaffirms its conviction: ensuring that gaming remains a leisure and entertainment activity depends above all on informing, preventing, and supporting players.
