The Barrière Group is committed to road safety for its employees.

The Barrière Group announces that it has joined the national employers’ call for road safety. This commitment marks the Group’s determination to strengthen a culture of safety to protect employees across all its sites.

Each year, nearly 500 people lose their lives while commuting to and from work, accounting for almost 15% of all road fatalities. Road accidents are the leading cause of workplace mortality in France.

In the service industry, employees are committed to giving their best for demanding customers. This strong commitment should never lead them to take unnecessary risks, especially on the road. The quality of service can only be guaranteed if the safety of employees is preserved.

Present in 28 French destinations, the Barrière Group is aware of the specific challenges posed by the varied traffic conditions that employees may encounter.

On Friday, September 13, a symbolic day for the gaming world, the century-old hotel and casino group became the 3,113th company to sign a road safety agreement with the State to improve the safety of its employees around seven pillars:

  • Limiting phone conversations while driving

  • Promoting sobriety on the road

  • Requiring the use of seat belts

  • Not accepting exceeding the speed limits

  • Incorporating rest breaks into travel time calculations

  • Encouraging road safety training for employees

  • Encouraging motorcyclists and cyclists to equip themselves better

Franck-Philippe Georgin, Secretary General of the Barrière Group, signed this agreement on behalf of the Group, emphasizing its crucial importance: “The safety of our employees is our top priority. This initiative is a first step that will be followed by concrete actions in collaboration with the interministerial delegation for road safety. Barrière is a group where everyone should be able to give their best in complete safety.”
