Fondation Barrière, Les Eblouis

Les Eblouis", first film by Sarah Suco Prix Cinéma 2019

The film "Les Eblouis" (in cinemas from 20th November) has been chosen by Fondation Barrière to receive its support in terms of promotion and screening an initial version in cinemas. President Yvan Attal (*) and the members of the Foundation’s Cinéma Jury 2019 selected Sarah Suco’s first feature film (with cast members including Camille Cottin, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Céleste Brunnquell and Eric Caravaca). After the first ever screening, the film crew and actors celebrated at Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet's on the Champs-Elysées, having been awarded the Fondation Barrière Prix Cinéma 2019 from President Dominique Desseigne.

Fondation Barrière (and a new jury every year) has been looking at hundreds of stories in written/image form for twenty years now, always choosing to support the strength and vision of a director’s first, second or third piece of work for cinema. Before "Les Eblouis", there was "Les Chatouilles" by Andréa Bescond and Eric Métayer and "Monsieur et Madame Adelman" by Nicolas Bedos.

The relationship between Barrière and the cinema goes back a very long way, from black and white to Technicolor, visio-panorama to 3D. And it continues today at the same international festivals - Cannes, Deauville, Dinard, La Baule – now with the film scores (at last) and celebrating the Césars winners at Fouquet's in Paris every year. Barrière, the pioneering partner, waits patiently for the cinema to deliver the unexpected. When life makes up stories, as Claude Lelouch once said.

Happy watching!
