Founded in 1912 by François André and now chaired by Joy Desseigne-Barrière and Alexandre Barrière, representing the fourth generation of the family, Barrière is one of France’s leading players in luxury hospitality and leisure.
For over a century, the Group has been developing destinations and living spaces defined by a demanding savoir-faire, excellence in service, and a distinctive art of hospitality. Rooted in a strong heritage yet constantly evolving, Barrière creates environments where hospitality, gastronomy, well-being, entertainment and culture come together to offer a complete and meaningful experience.
Today, Barrière brings together 20 exceptional hotels under the Barrière Collection, 33 casinos and one gaming club under the Barrière Casino brand, nearly 200 restaurants and bars, as well as spas and golf courses located in some of the most renowned destinations. Through these venues, the Group designs experiences that go beyond traditional hospitality, shaping true places of life.
Driven by iconic brands such as Fouquet’s, founded in Paris and now present in New York, Saint-Barthélemy and Courchevel, and by emblematic destinations including Deauville and La Baule, Barrière continues to expand both in France and internationally, with the ambition to bring its expertise to the world’s most desirable destinations.
With nearly 7,000 employees and revenue of €1.5 billion for the fiscal year ending October 31, 2025, Barrière remains true to its identity as a major French family-owned company, while continuing to imagine the experiences that will shape the memories of tomorrow.
The Barrière brand comprises two distinct entities: Groupe Lucien Barrière (GLB) and Société Fermière du Casino Municipal de Cannes (SFCMC).
