Ethics Charter for Suppliers

Groupe Barrière is committed to a policy of social responsibility, as guided by ISO 26 000. The Group Purchasing Department would like its suppliers and service providers to sign this ethics charter, making them active stakeholders in this policy.

SIGNING THIS CHARTER MEANS THAT YOU:

  • Agree to meet the requirements of the Group’s ethics charter.
  • Are able to provide the Group with all certificates of professional competence and  compliance with current law.
  • Will establish a long-term partnership with the Group based on mutual trust.


THE SIGNATORY AGREES THAT IT WILL:

1. In the practical conduct of its activities

  • Follow the eco-friendly initiatives and Sustainable Development good practice at the locations where the supplier or service provider is working. – Follow the rules of professional conduct.
  • Not be involved in any corrupt practice or make any facilitating payments.
  • Undertake to inform its own suppliers and service providers of the content of this charter.

2. In the general operation of the business

  • Not employ minors under 15 years of age or, where current legal requirements stipulate a higher age, not employ any child under that standard age (16 years in France).
  • Restrict cumulative work and travel time to a maximum of 10 hours a day for minors.
  • Not to be involved in forced labour (wages not paid to the employee, illegal employment, undocumented workers in relation to current legislation).
  • Not discriminate on grounds of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, trade union membership or political involvement.
  • Respect the current legal and professional standards for the minimum wage.
  • Guarantee freedom of association and the practise thereof in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions currently in place within the company.
  • Prevent, expose and penalise all forms of physical and mental harassment.
  • Follow the health and safety practices and procedures laid down in the applicable documentation at the workplace.
  • Ensure that the requirements for tax and social declarations are met and payments made.
  • Provide professional training to maintain and develop the skills of company employees.

3. In respect of environmental standards

  • Follow the environmental regulations for their business sector.
  • Develop good practice for saving energy and water and sorting waste in all areas of the business.

4. With regard to this document

  • When changing any supplier, sub-contractor or contracting party, check that they are aware of the requirements of this charter.
  • Authorise Groupe Barrière to carry out checks on compliance with the requirements of the charter.
  • For any failure to respect this charter, undertake corrective action and provide proof of its effectiveness.
  • The supplier or service provider confirms that it has read this charter and undertakes to comply with the various terms.
