Volunteer firefighters – combining charity and work
The Barrière values all its employees' skills, whether they are connected to their profession or go above and beyond their professional responsibilities. In 2014, Resort Barrière Ribeauvillé signed an agreement with the Haut-Rhin department which ensures that its volunteer firefighter employees are available to carry out their various tasks.
Since January 2014, Resort Barrière Ribeauvillé has agreed to guarantee the availability of its volunteer firefighter employees to assist the department's fire brigade. This initiative was recognised in October 2015 when the establishment received the "Partner Employer of the Haut-Rhin Firefighters" label for the 2015-2017 period.
Involvement and flexibility
Two of the Resort's employees have already committed to using their skills to benefit the local community for response calls and training sessions. Their charity work amounts to around forty hours per year for each individual. So as to meet the firefighters' requests, the establishment has implemented flexible working hours, as pointed out by Thierry Trouard-Riollé, Sustainable Development representative at Ribeauvillé. "With some slight adjustments to work schedules, it is a major initiative that is easy to put into place."
Beyond their commitment, these volunteer firefighters enjoy genuine gratitude from the establishment's teams.
