Our Responsible Gaming Policy
The Barrière Group's gaming establishments are first and foremost places of entertainment and enjoyment. It is with this desire to preserve the festive spirit of gaming that the Barrière Group made a commitment to Responsible Gaming more than 25 years ago. Listening to customers, supporting them when they need it, and ensuring a safe gaming experience are all integral parts of this approach.
Since 2009, the Group has designed and implemented a comprehensive and concrete Responsible Gaming program structured around a network of experts in the field who have received appropriate training, operational tools, and innovative measures such as Voluntary Access Restriction.
Protecting our players and employees is an integral part of our mission. More than just a commitment, responsible gaming is at the heart of our strategy.

At the national level: A department dedicated to Responsible Gaming
In 2023, Barrière strengthened its commitment by creating a department dedicated to Responsible Gaming, headed by Alice Tafforin, clinical psychologist and Operational Director of Responsible Gaming. Her mission is to steer, develop and implement the Group's prevention strategy while coordinating actions in the field.
She is supported in particular by the National Responsible Gaming Commission, whose role is to define the program's strategic guidelines, drawing on the expertise of its members in various fields and professions. It meets on average four times a year, attended by Joy Desseigne-Barrière, Co-Chair of the Barrière Group.

At the local level: Responsible Gaming Advisors
Since 2009, Barrière has been committed to appointing a Responsible Gaming Advisor in each of its establishments, as well as a psychologist at the Barrière Casinos in Toulouse, Lille, Enghien, and Blotzheim.
Specially trained for this role, the advisor is responsible for implementing the Responsible Gaming policy in their casino. They play a key role in preventing, identifying, and supporting at-risk players.
Each gaming establishment also has a Local Responsible Gaming Committee made up of representatives from different departments. This committee meets regularly to monitor sensitive situations, discuss customers under observation in the context of responsible gaming, news, new procedures, etc.
To ensure the proper implementation of the Responsible Gaming program, self-assessments are carried out annually by the establishments, and a triennial audit is conducted by the head office.
Team training: a priority for the Group
The Responsible Gaming Advisors at each Casino Barrière in France are trained to become true ambassadors for the Group's approach. Every year, they are offered specific training to strengthen their skills, including training in interview techniques and first aid for mental health issues. These tools enable them to develop the skills they need to carry out their duties.
Barrière is committed to ensuring that all employees in contact with customers are aware of the Responsible Gaming policy. That is why, upon arrival, all Group employees receive training in Responsible Gaming prevention to enable them to identify warning signs and actively contribute to the approach.

Voluntary Access Restriction
Created by the Barrière Group, Voluntary Access Restriction (VAR) is a system offering a “visit credit” scheme that allows players who wish to do so to choose a limited number of monthly visits to the Group's establishments, between zero and eight, over a given period of three to twelve months.
Customers benefiting from the VLA, even if they hold a Barrière Group Carré VIP loyalty card, will not receive any commercial communications (mail/email/text message). Furthermore, it is not possible to terminate a VLA contract once it has been signed. This tool provides a very concrete way of preventing the real risks of excessive gambling. This measure is not intended to replace a request by the customer for a ban on gambling on national territory, but complements the various solutions offered for situations of varying severity.
