Golf Month

To mark the greatest golf tournament in the world, Groupe Barrière launches «Golf Month» at 9 of its top destinations. From 14th of September until 15th of October, the Group’s iconic courses will be the venue for a whole host of of activities and events dedicated to this amazing sport.

Hidden in the Normandy countryside, high up above Deauville or anchored in the wild, unique landscape of La Baule, 3 exceptional Barrière golf courses are the ideal place to perfect your swing in a fabulous setting. Between land and sea, Golf Barrière Deauville, Golf Barrière Saint Julien and Golf International Barrière La Baule offer 27 to 45 holes for all types of player and every level. Those who prefer a bit of gourmet cuisine with their golf can enjoy a delicious meal at Barrière Club Houses L’Hôtel du Golf and L’Hermitage – both have breath-taking views of the green. Barrière also opens the doors to some of the best courses in France and Morocco, with 50 partner golf courses in Deauville, la Baule, Cannes, Dinard, Enghien, Lille, Le Touquet, Marrakech and Ribeauvillé.

9 Barrière destinations are going green for an entire month: Paris, Enghien, Cannes, Le Touquet, Trouville, Deauville, Dinard, La Baule and Marrakech are getting in the swing of things, marking the world’s greatest golf tournament with activities designed around the event. For gourmets – a scrumptious dessert in the shape of a golf ball dreamed up by Traiteur Barrière – delicious vanilla on the outside and a smooth filling of red fruits in the middle. And at the bar, the Fairway cocktail concocted by 4 of the Group’s top bartenders – Emanuele Balestra from Cannes, Marc Jean fom Deauville, Stéphane Ginouvès from Paris and Olivier Alliot from La Baule – is a gorgeous blend of gin, lime, tonic and basil and pretty much a hole in one!

This rather discreet presence of golf at Barrière destinations is countered by a more open display, with an exhibition by Hubert Privé of his creations at Le Majestic, L’Hôtel du Golf, Le Normandy, Le Westminster, Le Royal La Baule and le Fouquet’s – monumental outdoor pieces accompanied by little artistic touches inside the Resorts. Fairways, tees, clubs and balls are adapted and re-invented by a sculptor/installation artist crazy about golf and contemporary art – decorating our Barrière destinations with a big nod to the tournament.

Out on the course, players are invited to take part in practice sessions and evening tournaments (6 holes), 9-hole tournaments (subject to specific criteria) on a re-designed course and activities on the beach at La Baule and Deauville, with golf coaches available at both resorts.

Whether you just enjoy the odd round or are a serious player, the golfing is great at these 9 fantastic destinations. A whole month on the greens – full of fun, entertainment, technical challenges, practice sessions and plenty of excitement. And the Resorts have a big choice of activities for relaxing and enjoying the odd adventure after a good day on the course. Chill at the Spa, linger over a cocktail or a meal, experience the thrill of the gaming tables or the bliss of a romantic stroll on the beach. Whether it’s a golf course or a Resort, Barrière draws on all its experience and expertise to ensure that guests enjoy a pleasurable and relaxing stay.
