Engagement & Reward

To coincide with European Sustainable Development Week, 30 May to 5 June, Casinos Barrière partnered with the Les Bouchons d’Amour association to organise a great cap collection.Supported by the Ministry of Ecology, the initiative collected more than 5 tonnes of caps from 29 Casinos Barrière across France.

“1 bag of caps = 1 euro of chips”

The great cap collection at 29 Casinos Barrière in France pulled in 5,176 kg of caps - an increase of over 1 tonne compared to last year

For every 6,000 caps, the association can buy one wheelchair.

To reward customers who took part in 2016, the Barrière group unveiled a prestigious partner in the form of BMW.

A BMW i3 was put up for grabs at Casino Barrière Toulouse, which saw 609 kg of caps collected in a week, with all loyalty card holders who contributed entered into a draw to win the vehicle on 5 June 2016.

Mrs Mas, a Casino Barrière Toulouse customer, is the lucky winner of the electric BMW i3.

It is with great pride and emotion that she will be handed the keys to this electric car on Monday 6 June at Casino Barrière Enghien-les-Bains in the presence of Dominique Desseigne, Chief Executive Officer of the Barrière group, Jean-Vincent Placé, Secretary of State in charge of Government Reform and Simplification of France, and Pierre Jalady, Marketing Director at BMW.

This same occasion will be used to hand over a cheque for 5,176 kg of caps to the Les Bouchons d’Amour association.

Having been involved in corporate social responsibility initiatives since 2010, the Barrière group nurtures various long-standing commitments.

The Barrière group has been supporting the Les Bouchons d'Amour association since 2001. This impressive collection serves to demonstrate once more its commitment and attentiveness towards those with disabilities. This is most notably reflected in the renewal in 2016 of its Group Handicap Contract with a policy centred around recruiting disabled workers, improving their living conditions and keeping them in work, as well as helping them with equipment procurement and educating colleagues. Caps are collected daily throughout the year around the Barrière group.
