After-work Mixology

Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet’s was completely refurbished in 2017 and, ensconced within it, L’Escadrille Bar has also reinvented itself, enhancing both its offering and its setting without losing any of its classic historic atmosphere. A party atmosphere, cocktails and sharing plates now rule at the latest trendy after-work venue.

1903, Champs-Elysées: Alberto Santos-Dumont landed his aircraft on the most famous avenue in the world and celebrated his feat in the Fouquet’s bar. The Escadrille got its name and Le Fouquet’s became the favourite hangout of aviation aces like Charles Nungesser and George Guynemer, and then anyone who was anyone in Paris – from Dietrich to Gabin, Ditry to Godard and Césars to Molières. A subtle mix of old and new, L’Escadrille is the place to meet whether you are famous or not - the atmosphere is lively but relaxed.

Fast forward to 2017: as a result of the renovation work overseen by Jacques Garcia at Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet’s, L’Escadrille Bar has evolved too, consolidating its place in aviation history. Black and white portraits of aviators and a magnificent propellor give the wood-lined walls a touch of nostalgia – memories of the bar’s early years when fans and heroes of the French aviation world walked through its doors. The elegant furniture and gleaming zinc bar create the perfect timeless setting - if you’re in the party mood - to the clever mix of sounds played by the new house DJ every evening.

Aviation is always on the menu – and a warm and friendly atmosphere too, of course. Original cocktails created by award-winning Head Barman, (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) such as the René Fonck, the Roland Garros and the Le Diable de Rabaul bejewel the tables -  very enticing for those in search of fantasy. And a delicious array of sharing plates has been designed to accompany them: crispy king prawns with onion rings, Fouquet’s black sushi croque-monsieur, as well as epic cheese and cold meat grazing boards – for enjoying a gourmet aperitif in the cosy warmth of an iconic venue with a ramped up party atmosphere.

As a couple or with friends, before dinner or for the whole evening - L’Escadrille is the ideal place to meet, share, chat and even dance – on the most beautiful avenue in the world.
